Dr Javed Mohungoo completed his medical degree at Leeds University in 2001 before going on to complete his dermatology training in Sheffield.
Dr Javed Mohungoo is a skilled and knowledgeable Consultant Dermatologist with over ten year’s experience in dermatology.
Dr Mohungoo has a great interest and expertise in general dermatology, paediatric dermatology, mole removal, skin cancer, acne vulgaris, eczema, psoriasis and skin allergies.
Dr Javed Mohungoo also has experience in Hair and Scalp disorders which has led him to write a chapter on female pattern hair loss and has been involved into research projects - finding new mutations in patients with hair disorders.
He currently works as a Consultant Dermatologist and is the National Clinical Lead for Dermatology at VirginCare Dermatology and a Consultant Dermatologist at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital. He was previously a Consultant and Clinical Lead at Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Hospitals.
Within Virgincare he is the Lead for Skin Cancer MDT, Clinical Governance, Medicine Management and Deputy Caldicott Guardian.
Dr Mohungoo was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physician this year in recognition of outstanding service. He is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Tutor with the Hull Medical School. He is a principal Investigator in a study of patients on Biologics in psoriasis.
Dr Mohungoo is a member of the British Association of Dermatology, British Society of Cutaneous Allergy and Immunology and British Medical Laser Association.
