About me

Mr Subramanian qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 1997 with triple honours and a first class Bachelors degree in immunology. He then completed his surgical training mainly in London and Surrey including a highly competitive National Oncoplastic Fellowship before being appointed a cross site Consultant Oncoplastic Surgeon at Eastbourne and Hastings Hospitals in 2011. He has published extensively in both breast surgery and general surgery and has also presented his work both nationally and internationally. He is currently Honorary Lecturer at Brighton University Medical School and The Royal College of Surgeons Tutor at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust with the responsibility for overseeing surgical training across the trust. He lectures on effective communication, interview techniques and is on the faculty for Oncoplastic surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mr Subramanian's busy practice includes the management of all aspects of breast disease, including breast reconstruction using pedicled flaps and implants and cosmetic breast operations including augmentation, reduction and uplifts. In addition he offers a dermatological (skin) surgical service. He also offers these services in the NHS. He is fully accredited by all major insurers.
His particular research interest is in local factors affecting breast cancer growth. Outside his clinical practice, he has an interest in training and education and also in effective communication skills within surgery. Although the majority of his leisure time is devoted to his two young children he is a keen musician and sportsman.
