Amer Shoaib is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in surgery of the Foot and Ankle and Limb Reconstruction Surgery. He was a consultant in Stockport from January, 2008 but has now moved his NHS practice to Manchester's Central Teaching Hospital - Manchester Royal Infirmary.
He offers a full range of surgical and non-surgical treatments for foot and ankle problems, from ingrowing toe-nails to bunion surgery to ankle replacements.
He qualified from St. George's Hospital Medical School in London. He has trained in Orthopaedic Surgery in London, the North West, Wales and Oswestry. Amer has had advanced surgical training in foot and ankle surgery from several of the United Kingdom's most prominent surgeons in this area. He is a member of the British Foot and Ankle Society, and the European Foot and Ankle Society.
Amer also performs limb reconstruction surgery using circular frames for the treatment of complex limb injuries and deformities. He was trained in the UK, but also has been to the world centre for Ilizarov Method Surgery in Kurgan in Russia. Amer served with the Royal Army Medical Corps in Bosnia and has an interest in the treatment of war limb injuries. He was recently featured in an article in the Sunday Times Magazine about doctors involved in humanitarian work in conflict areas.
Amer runs a charity which recycles used medical braces and surgical appliances to allow them to be re-used in less developed countries.

I routinely collect outcome data on all elective patients - this is collected before and after surgery to ensure that patients are improved. I currently use the MOXFQ reporting scale.
