About me

I specialise in working with children and their families to help them overcome their current difficulties. I mainly work from a cognitive-behavioural framework (which has a lot of research to support it) but also bring in elements of systemic and solution-focussed approaches. I have experience of working with children with anxiety, physical presentations (e.g. headaches, tummy aches), low mood, behavioural problems and learning disabilities.

A main part of my work is undertaking cognitive (also known as neuropsychological or psychometric) assessments with children. This might be because they are struggling at school, because they find specific tasks difficult, or after an accident or injury. I believe in providing a comprehensive assessment of these difficulties and their impact upon day to day life, as well as providing recommendations to help the child work around them both at home and at school.

I am happy to speak to parents on the phone first to discuss if therapy or a neuropsychological assessment is right for you and your child as I understand that this can be a big decision and commitment for the child and their family.
