About me

Mr Michael is part of Sheffield Orthopaedics Ltd (SOL), proudly in partnership with Claremont Private Hospital. In addition to Claremont's CQC accreditation, SOL has it's own CQC accreditation and is part of Claremont's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on-call consultant cover provision for inpatients. SOL Consultants are integral to the reduced length of stay Claremont patients enjoy, compared to other providers.

Mr Michael is a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon at the Northern General Hospital, with a private practice at Claremont.

He has undergone sub-specialty training in this area including the management of conditions arising from degenerative, traumatic and tumoural causes. He is also interested in the management of children and adults with spinal deformity.

He is a member of the British Association of Spine Surgeons, the British Scoliosis Society and AO Spine. He is the Director of the AO Spine centre in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

He has significant research interests into spine pathology and collaborates with researchers from the Sheffield Hallam University.
