About me

Mr Lehel Balint MD, FRCS, PhD, FRSM – Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mr Balint earned his Medical Doctor qualification in 1992 in Pecs, Hungary. His trauma and orthopaedic training has completed in 1997 with highest mark exam result. He has defended his PhD thesis with the title of Local and Systematic Antibiotic Prophylaxis and Infection Control during major joint arthroplasty in 2005 achieving the highest ranking mark. Specialist and Full GMC Registration were gained in June 2004. His previous posts ranged from Research Fellow at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) to Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics, Medical University of Pécs, Hungary. He has spent clinical fellowships in the UK, USA, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Spain and Hungary on various specialty subjects. His specialty areas are: major joint (hip, knee, shoulder) replacement, resurfacing, shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery, basic foot and hand surgery. He is member of BOA, AAOS, EFORT, SICOT and one of the founder of the Association of Hungarian Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. Since he has moved to the UK in 2004 he has been involved in the private and independent sector performing more than 10000 procedures in various private and NHS hospitals.
