About me

I am a Chartered and Registered Clinical Psychologist, I am also an Accredited CBT Therapist with the BABCP. Furthermore, I am fully trained in the application of EMDR.

I have experience in working in both the NHS and private sector. I offer therapy to adults, adolescents (13-18), elderly, couples and families.

As a clinical psychologist I can offer psychological therapy with a broad understanding of a range of theories and therapy models. Together we can discuss the difficulties you are experiencing and consider the most useful way forward.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an important part of the style of work that I offer. CBT is a short to medium term, goal oriented therapy that takes a practical approach to problem solving and is extremely effective in treating a wide range of difficulties. However, most importantly, I recognise that each individual brings with them their own experiences and understanding of the problems they are having, so it is about creating understanding of your difficulties with you and creating a working style that is unique to you.

I also offer Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) which I have used successfully with many clients presenting with symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder. This style of therapy has been shown to be particularly effective for people who have experienced trauma and are suffering with nightmares, intrusive thoughts and high levels of anxiety.
