I have been a Consultant in Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine since 2008 having trained in Southampton, The South West, Cambridge and Liverpool. I have also gained further experience by visiting hospitals in Canada.
I have specialist knowledge in asthma and other respiratory disease maintaining links with North West respiratory networks.
I am the respiratory research lead for the Countess of Chester Hospital and founded the Chester Respiratory Research Unit which hosts a number of clinical research trials. I gained a PhD in asthma research.
I am the current chair of the national Asthma Specialist Advisory Group for the British Thoracic Society. I am joint chair of the Acute Management of Asthma Evidence Review Group for the national BTS/SIGN Asthma guidelines plus a member of the steering committee and also a member of the guideline development group for the forthcoming NICE guidelines for the managemenet of asthma.
I am current secretary of the North West Thoracic Society.
I hold an honorary chair at the University of Chester.
