About me
I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist at the Regional Liver Unit, Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. I graduated from Queens University, Belfast, in 1998 and following a period in ST Vincent's University hospital Dublin, completed higher specialist training in both gastroenterology and hepatology in the Northern Ireland Deanery. I completed a post graduate MD degree in 2009, studying Haemochromatosis and PBC.
In addition to my clinical work, I have a major interest in improvement of healthcare services and have been assistant medical director in Belfast Health & Social Care Trust (BHSCT) for continuous improvement since 2014. I am also the clinical lead of the Ambulatory Care Centre, RVH and NI regional liver unit, RVH.
I was awarded the institute of healthcare management Medical Leader of the year award (NI) in 2013 and was previously a board member of the Irish society of Gastroenterology 2011-2017.
