I have been working in a substantive role as Consultant Psychiatrist since 2009. My training is in General Adult Psychiatry with subspeciality accreditation in Liaison Psychiatry.
My special interest is in Perinatal Psychiatry which focusses on psychiatric disorders of pregnancy and the postnatal period. I have been Consultant for the Sheffield Perinatal Mental Health Service since 2009.
Between 2003 and 2007 I held the academic position of Clinical Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Sheffield during which time I was lead for Undergraduate psychiatry teaching and conducted original neuropsychiatric research which was presented at international conferecnces in Hungary, Italy and UK.
I also trained as a General Practitioner prior to pursuing a career in Psychiatry.
I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Sheffield, and was a member of the Perinatal Faculty of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Executive Commitee between 2010 and 2014. I am a MRCPsych Examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
I am on the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and the Assisted Conception Unit Ethics Commitee, Jessop Wing, Sheffield.
I am able to provide prompt psychiatric assessments in Sheffield and North Derbyshire. I also offer telephone and Skype consultations.
