Dr Patrick Kennedy is a Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist at Barts and The London NHS Trust and the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth. He graduated from University College Dublin and completed his post-graduate medical training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in London. Dr Kennedy was appointed as a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Hepatology at Barts and The London School of Medicine in 2009.
His primary research interest is in liver disease and he is widely published in the field. His research focuses on factors driving the development and progression of liver disease. He has a special interest in liver disease in young people and runs a dedicated young adult liver clinic at The Royal London. He is a member of the viral hepatitis clinical guideline committee for NICE and provides expert opinion for the United Kingdom Advisory Panel on bloodborne viruses.
