Mr Andrew Ballaro qualified from the Royal Free Hospital in 1993 and trained in Oxford and London. He was appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2008 and is now the lead Endourologist at BHR NHS Trust, where he has developed a high quality general and specialist urology service for a large population.
Mr Ballaro specialises in the management of all urological problems including blood in the urine, urinary infections, PSA, prostate and bladder symptoms, and all urological cancer diagnosis and is highly experienced at performing all general urological operations. He has a major surgical interest in the management of kidney stones, and consistently publishes some of the best surgical outcomes for complex stone surgery in the UK.
Mr Ballaro teaches London deanery trainee urologists at all levels and has published widely in the fields of minimally invasive urological surgery. He was awarded a Hunterian professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2004, and is co-author of the latest edition of the standard medical student textbook ‘Lecture Notes in Urology’.
