About me

I qualified from the Plymouth School of Podiatry in 1985. I worked in the NHS for 10 years, where I was involved in biomechanics and treatment of the diabetic foot. I worked as a member of the multidisciplinary diabetic team and was involved in the outpatient diabetic clinic and community education in GP surgeries for preventative care. Since then I have worked in private practice, treating general foot pathologies and specialising in curative rather than palliative treatments. In 2013 I completed a year of MSc modules on musculoskeletal biomechanics at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where I focused on knee and foot pathologies and gait analysis. I now run the practice gait laboratory which has video gait analysis installed. I work closely with our practice physiotherapist to analyse the functional biomechanics of patients with painful lower limb conditions, enabling a holistic treatment plan.
