About me

I graduated from Damascus University and trained in Cardiology in multiple large cardiac centres including Liverpool. I obtained my MD from Aberdeen University and spent a year as an Interventional fellow in Canada.
I took my consultant post in 2008 and an honorary senior lecturer at Newcastle University since 2009. I have a special interest in coronary interventions particularly complex interventions and adjunctive devices as alternative to bypass operation. I also have a special interest in percutaneous Mitral valve interventions and one of the few operators in the UK who perform these interventions.
I am a proctor and trainer for other consultants in multiple complex coronary procedures.
I am an examiner and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the European Society of Cardiology and a Faculty member of multiple national and international meetings.
I have over 45 publications and over 30 oral presentations in major international journals and meetings.
