Dr Shonde qualified from the Royal Free Hospital in London in 1995. He underwent SpR training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in London at the Hammersmith, Chelsea & Westminster and Charing Cross Hospitals.
He was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at Sherwood Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in February 2009. He has areas of specialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, most specifically the small bowel, taking an active interest in capsule endoscopy including upper GI capsule, small bowel capsule and lower GI capsule.
He takes an active role in IBD and the Endoscopy Department at Sherwood Forest Hospitals and is Principal Investigator for Clinical Research trials at the site.
Dr Shonde is Regional QA Lead in the Midlands and East for the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
