Dr Obaid is a long established NHS consultant Rheumatologist. Having received training in London and Leicester, she was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College Of Physicians. Since, she has obtained an MSc in Rheumatology from Christ College, Oxford University. Her psssion for the field sees her regularly teach Nottingham medical students and actively partake in the training of junior doctors. Dr Obaid has extensive experience in treating inflammatory arthropathies such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis as well as, connective tissue diseases such as lupus, gout, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis. In addition to joint injections, she has trained to provide ultrasound examination of the joints streamlining the diagnostic process and aiding early detection of inflammatory arthritis.

I am currently participating in a national multi- centre study funded by the British Society of Rheumatology to study the efficacy and safety of anti-TNF treatment in Ankylosing Spondylitis patients over a period of 5 years
We are also recruiting patients for Oxford based genetic study aiming to identify new genes implicated in the development of Ankylosing Spondylitis
