About me

Dr Nick Perry has specialised in Breast Imaging for the last 25 years and has also carried out breast screening quality assurance roles at Local, Regional, National and European level. He was consultant to the European Commission for its Europe Against Cancer Breast Screening Programme and is editor in chief of the current edition of the European Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Breast Screening. He has been Chairman and is now Vice-President of the European reference organisation for Quality Assured breast cancer screening and diagnosis (EUREF).
He sat on the Public Information Committee for the Radiological Society of North America 2015-2018 and has lectured extensively throughout Europe and America. His 2007 RSNA press conference in Chicago on breast density in urban women attracted an estimated global coverage of 307 million. Subsequent press conferences in Chicago were on annual mammography lowering mastectomy rate (2010) and alteration in involutional patterns of breast density in women subsequently developing breast cancer (2013). He was the first radiologist in the UK to introduce Full Field Digital Mammography into routine clinical practice and the first in Europe to use the ATEC Suros Vacuum Biopsy device.
He is currently UK Ambassador for the US website DenseBreast-info.org (from 2018)

Mammography, breast ultrasound, tissue sampling prcedures of the breast under ultrasound, 2D or 3D mammographic guidance. Main research topic - breast density.
