About me

Professor Mortensen studied in Bristol and at St Mark's Hospital London before being appointed to the staff of the Oxford University Hospitals in 1986.
He has a specialist interest in colorectal surgery and was one of the pioneers for the specialty in the UK. He has a national and international practice in cancer, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. He has published over 350 articles and many books on colorectal disease. He has been president of national societies and is an international journal editor
