- Vascular surgery
I have over 40 years experience in vascular surgery, representing a unique volume and diversity of operative practice. Areas in which I continue to innovate and develop include surgery under local anaesthesia and the extended application of endarterectomy for arterial occlusion, providing effective and durable restoration of blood flow to limbs without incurring the complications associated with prosthetic grafts.
Areas of interest
Limb ischaemia; Microvascular surgery; Paediatric vascular disorders; Stroke surgery; Aneurysms; Venous disorders and varicose veins
Current NHS consultant posts held
Having retired from my full-time NHS post at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in October 2014 I remain in private practice and hold honorary appointments as consultant vascular surgeon to QEHB, the Birmingham Children's Hospital and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.
