About me

Mr Alasdair Mace is a senior Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist practising in London. He is fully accredited with the General Medical Council and The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He has an NHS Award for Clinical Excellence and his practice is centred around his patients, with their health and wellbeing of paramount importance.

He has an NHS Consultant post at Charing Cross and St Mary's Hospitals in central London where he was the Head of Specialty for ENT, Audiology and Oral Surgery from 2013 to 2017 and is now the Lead Clinician for Head and Neck Cancer. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College and an Honorary Consultant at The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and The Royal Marsden Hospital. His private practice is based in London, Hertfordshire and Middlesex

He provides expert specialist management for all common Ear, Nose and Throat problems. In particular he has a sub-specialist interest in disorders of the throat and voice, lumps in the head and neck, including the salivary glands and thyroid gland, and nasal or sinus problems.

He graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Imperial College, London in 1996.

In 2007, he completed a fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard University Medical School, Boston, USA, learning advanced thyroid and parathyroid surgery techniques. On his return to the UK he was awarded the position of Royal College of Surgeons Senior Fellow in Laryngology developing advanced skills in the management of voice, airway and swallowing disorders. He was appointed as Consultant ENT Head and Neck Surgeon in 2009.

His appointment at this major London cancer centre involves the management of head and neck malignancy, including major cancer resections along with surgery for benign diseases and voice problems.

He has published over 40 academic papers and several book chapters, and teaches on a number of national and international medical courses. He is a teaching faculty member of the Royal College of Surgeons and an Examiner for MB, BS.
