About me

Dr. Katie Lacy is a Consultant Dermatologist at the St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, an internationally recognised centre for the treatment of patients with skin conditions. She is experienced in treating patients with general dermatological conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, benign and cancerous skin lesions and other skin rashes.
She has a specialist interest in melanoma and is the clinical lead for the melanoma multidisciplinary team at Guys and St. Thomas’s Hospital. She runs a dedicated clinic for patients with multiple moles and has extensive experience of the use of mole mapping and dermoscopy in order to identify suspicious skin lesions. She also undertakes skin cancer genetics clinics jointly with the genetics department at Guy's Hospital.
Katie Lacy graduated from Pembroke College, Oxford University with a 1st class Honours degree. Having completed a PhD in skin immunology, she is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Kings College London. She runs a research group investigating immune responses in melanoma and also has an interest in new techniques for skin cancer diagnosis including optical coherence tomography and confocal microscopy. She has published her work in journals and given presentations at national and international meetings.
