About me
I qualified from Manchester Medical School in 1977 and trained in General Surgery in the North West of England. I was appointed Senior Lectures/Hon. Consultant at Hope Hospital in Salford in 1991 and developed an interest in oesophago-gastric and minimally invasive surgery. In 1992 I took up a Consultant post at the Royal Preston Hospital where I established a specialist unit in oesophago-gastric surgery. This was chosen to be the centre for the Lancashire & South Cumbria Cancer network in 2009. In 2011 I was invited to be the Head of Upper GI Services at University College Hospitals, London. In 2012 I was appointed Honorary Clinical Professor at University College, London. I specialise in complex upper GI surgery.
