About me

Professor Courtney Kipps is an Honorary Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine. His NHS practice is at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH), UCLH, where is also co-lead of UCL’s MSc programme in Sports Medicine, Exercise & Health.

He has extensive experience in both endurance and team sports medicine through his current role as the Assistant Medical Director of the London Marathon and previous roles as the Medical Director of the London and Blenheim Triathlons and Club Doctor for Harlequins Rugby Club.

His research and clinical interests are focused on injuries and illnesses during endurance sporting events, especially running, cycling and triathlons.

He is co-organiser of Marathon Medicine, the largest and longest running conference on the medicine and science of endurance sports world-wide.

Prof Kipps is an elected Council member of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, UK, and an elected Board member of the International Institute of Race Medicine.

He is covered by all major insurance companies.
