About me

Dr Tom Saw is a Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine with over 15 years experience in Sports Medicine. He undertook his medical training at Cambridge University before completing a Basic Surgical Training in the East Anglia region. Subsequently he worked as a Hip Research Fellow for Richard Villar before completing postgraduate qualifications in Sports Medicine and a shortened GP rotation in the Oxford region.

For the last 15 years he has worked within Sports and Exercise Medicine specialising in the management of back and spine pain and the use of spinal injections for this. He undertook further training in United States of America and Holland on specialist pain management procedures.

Dr Saw has worked with many Premiership Football sides treating players with lumbar issues as well as supporting the GB rowing and para rowing teams to the last three Olympiads. Dr Saw is also a PGA accredited doctor having supported the PGA European Tour in the Middle East on several occasions as well as seeing patients for lumbar and hip pain at his practices in the UK and Dubai.

He consults at the The Back and Body Medical Clinic in Northampton the Blackberry Clinic, Oxford and also at Up and Running Clinic, Dubai where he works with a wide range of patients to help manage their pain and improve quality of life regardless of their activity level.

As well as his special interest in the spine and hip pathology he undertakes joint sparing techniques in patients with osteoarthritis such as injections of PRP, prolotherapy, hyaluronic acid and radiofrequency denervation of chronic joint pain to help with hip, knee, shoulder and ankle pain.
