About me

Dr Shaheen Khan is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

His areas of expertise in palliative care include:Pain management and complex symptom control, Advance care planning, Patient safety and risk management, Postgraduate medical education, Service development and clinical leadership.

Dr Khan provides a broad range of expertise in the management of medical problems within the context of serious illness. He treats patients in a holistic manner, working closely with their clinical team, relatives and carers. Dr Khan treats patients with any serious illness, including cancer and other serious illnesses such as heart disease, respiratory problems and neurological disorders.

Dr Shaheen Khan graduated from Guy’s, Kings’ and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2003, having also been awarded a first class honours degree in BSc Neuroscience in 2000. He completed the MSc in Palliative Care from Kings’ College London in 2010 and in 2011 he was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership.
